Killum Pest Control Inc., is locally owned and operated by the Melass family of Brazoria County.  President L.E. "Corky" Melass is a lifelong resident of the Brazosport area.  Company management includes "Corky"'s sons Eric Melass, Vice President of Operations, and Brian Melass, Vice President of Sales.  Local ownership by the Melass family means that Killum is familiar with both the residents of our community, but also the pest control challenges that are unique to our area.  Being committed to serving Brazoria County drives us to an unsurpassed level of customer satisfaction.  You can't remain in a location long-term without attaining and maintaining an excellent reputation for service. History

Founded in 1959 by Gerald Kellum, we are the oldest pest control business in Brazoria County.   The business was acquired by L.E. "Corky" Melass in 1973, where the ownership has resided ever since.  The company has grown rapidly, and is the largest pest control business officed in Brazoria County. Through the 70's and 80's, Killum was located in Angleton.  In 1993 we moved to Lake Jackson, where we now have our office at 209 Plantation.  See Facilities below.   [TOP]

Technology

The pest control industry is benefiting from continuously advancing technology.  This allows us to control pests with the least possible impact on people and the environment.  Through our affiliation with numerous pest management associations and organizations, we constantly stay abreast of the latest advances in pest control technology.  Our clients benefit from us applying this knowledge in our day-to-day operations.  Examples of this include Sentricon and the new Mosquito Magnet.   [TOP]

Qualifications

We are the most qualified and experienced pest control company in Brazoria County.  Our certified applicators and technicians represent almost 100 years of cumulative pest control experience.  The pest control industry recognizes two levels of certification, Pest Control Technician and Pest Control Certified Applicator (the highest level of certification), in several areas of practice, Pest Control, Termite Control, and Structural Fumigation, among others.  These levels all require significant classroom training, field experience, and ongoing education.  Our Technicians are licensed in the Pest Control and Termite Control areas, and our Certified Applicators are qualified in all three areas of practice.  In addition, with our commitment to annual continuing education you can be assured that our service is performed to the most knowledgeable and up-to-date staff in the industry.   [TOP]

Facilities

Our facility is located at 209 Plantation Drive in Lake Jackson (TX).  We operate from a building containing our office, storage, and dispatching spaces.  Our fleet of 12 vehicles enable us to provide service to all areas of Brazoria County.  We pride ourselves in the cleanliness and orderliness of our facility and vehicles.  Our office is always open to visitors, where our professional office staff is ready to greet you and assist you in every way possible.  You are welcome to come by to bring any samples of pests you need help with, or to make arrangements for servicing your home or location.  [TOP]
